We’re gearing up for our Harvest Festival, and we’re particularly excited about the barn dance happening from 7pm-11pm in our beautiful events barn. There will be plenty of room to two step the night away, and thanks to The Wes Cook Band we know the boots will be scooting for sure!
We sat down with Wes to learn more about him and his passion for music. Enjoy our interview below.
Tell about us a little bit about your music journey.
Well, my dad and my granddad always played classic country when we would be out working on the farm. It was the only thing that was ever on, so I learned every song. Then, I joined choir in 2nd grade and even did musicals as I got older. I didn’t really know it was what I wanted to know for a living until about 2007. Around then, I started doing some acoustic shows and finally, we put a band together. When I realized I could make a living doing it, that’s when I realized I had the to give it a shot.
What’s your favorite song to play?
Other than originals, probably something by Sammy Kershaw. He’s always been a big favorite of mine, especially growing up. I enjoy playing just about anything by him.
What’s your least favorite song?
Haha, Sweet Home Alabama — I’m from East Tennessee and I’m happy to admit that I’m a diehard UT fan.
Do you have a favorite venue?
Gosh, they’re all great but this year we played at the Mad Live Stage and Sound in Woodstock Georgia. It’s a newer place and very professional. It was a great night.
Do you have a favorite song at the moment?
Outskirts of Heaven by Craig Campbell is definitely one I’m loving right now.
Best part of being a musician and artist?
Making your own schedule. I’m my own boss and that’s probably my favorite thing more than anything.
Tickets for the barn dance & buffet tickets will be $20. Barn dance only tickets are $10. Kids 4-12 are $5 each, and 3 and under are free. Tickets available at the door, night of show. Cash bar will be available.
