Alright ladies, this one’s for you!
A few months ago, Homestead paired up with Lindsey McPherson of The Nashville Mom blog to bring all you gals the Ladies Fare Club — a fun and festive mixer aimed at bringing women in the community together to socialize, collaborate and learn from one another while enjoying snacks from Harvest! Each month, we bring female experts in to share their know-how on different topics, skills, success and trial stories, and more that lead to creative discussion among the group.
We caught up with Lindsey to learn more about her blog, the Ladies Fare Club and all that it has to offer to women in our community. Read her Q+A below to see what she had to say!
Q: What made you decide to start your blog, The Nashville Mom?
A: A few years ago, my husband and I moved to Tennessee from Florida while I was pregnant with my first child. As a new mother, I felt lost because I’m not a Nashville-native and I didn’t know where to go or what to do — I was nervous to try new things and couldn’t find a good resource. After having my second child, I had that “mom-jo” confidence and knew there had to be others looking for help so I started The Nashville Mom where parents can find tips and tricks, things to do and more from locals! Nashville is such a friendly and welcoming environment. People say “it takes a village” and Nashville is literally my village. People here really want to be part of your story.
Q: Why did you choose to get involved with the Ladies Fare Club?
A: I love hosting events in town to meet local moms and get them out of the house. I’m really passionate about mothers taking time for themselves because if you don’t make it a priority to take care of yourself, you can’t take care of your family. Moms deserve a night out.
Q: How did you come up with this month’s topic?
A: May’s Ladies Fare Club is all about Mom[pho]tography. I’m scattered and always think I’m going to remember the important moments in my kids’ lives like when they started walking or talking, etc. but I don’t remember so thank goodness I have pictures I can look back on to keep those memories! It’s also great for your kids to be able to look through photos to see when they were little and all the moments in between. The majority of us carry a camera with us all the time, so being able to use it to the best of our ability is important.
Q: What can guests expect to learn?
A: Dottie Beasley, a professional photographer and my close friend, is leading the discussion this month. I love her style and she loves kids, and is great at taking pictures of them. I’m excited to learn tips and tricks for getting those great shots of your kids with an iPhone and capturing those memories in a high quality way. She’s so talented, I know Dottie will offer a lot of insight.
The Ladies Fare Club is coming up on Tuesday, May 31 from 6:30-8:30PM at Homestead Manor. Tickets are available for purchase HERE.
