On May 31st, the Thompson’s Station Farmer’s Market opened its doors for its first-ever night market on the Homestead Manor property. With a warm welcome and great anticipation from the community, the event was nothing short of a success!
Customers who came out to preview the first event of its kind in Thompson’s Station were given the chance to shop all their favorite local vendors, many of which are regulars at the weekly market. These vendors included folks who have been with the market for years, such as Kelley’s Berry Farm, Arrowhead Farms, and Spring Hill Bakery, as well as some that are newcomers this year, like Harmony Lane Creamery and Southern Jerky Company.
There was even a special appearance from a new business, Mind Your Biscuits, which sells delicious frozen artisan biscuits to take home and bake (PSA: they will be returning to the market starting next week!).
Two local food trucks — Yayo’s Omg and 313 Coney — were also onsite and were a huge hit! Besides enjoying delicious food and shopping amazing homegrown, homemade and handcrafted items, the market attendees were romanced with live music performances from local singer/songwriters Taylor Dukes, Tessa Victoria, and Alicia Smith.
“The night really turned out to be everything we hoped it would be and more, and the weather made it even better,” said Valerie Cross, Market Manager. “We had families sitting around the lawn enjoying quality time together, while other folks enjoyed the ambiance of the pond. We’re grateful for the countless customers who appreciate the value in a local farmer’s market.”
The Thompson’s Station Farmer’s Market has resumed to its normal market hours: every Wednesday from 10am to 2pm through the end of August. The night market will return on August 2 from 4 – 7pm for a second go-around! Expect to see more live music, $1 s’mores, picnics and more! Mark your calendars – you won’t want to miss it!
